Ten VIVA teachers will attend NBC’s Education Nation Town Hall with Brian Williams on Sept. 25 in New York. We were even asked to submit a suggestion for a VIVA teacher to be one of the panelists during this nationally televised discussion.
VIVA already has a presence on the Education Nation website. NY Task Force member Mark Anderson penned a blog post for Education Nation about the plan to publicly release NY teacher evaluations. It carries the intriguing title, “The Bipolar Status of Teachers.” I hope you’ll take a look, leave a comment and share the post with your friends.
This is an example of the many ways we at The VIVA Project are helping classroom teachers raise their voices to drive excellence in their profession and in their classrooms. As teachers who care passionately about your students, your professional and education policy, I invite you to stay connected with VIVA by following the VIVA Project on Twitter, talking with us on Facebook, and joining the VIVA community on edWeb. Expect our first newsletter soon with news about our next VIVA teacher idea exchanges and other opportunities for VIVA teachers to engage in education policy discussions.
