Arne Duncan Holds Twitter Town Hall Meeting

In his first Twitter town hall meeting, Education Secretary Arne Duncan (a self-described Twitter novice) invited people to submit questions via Twitter using the #AskArne hastag. He didn’t actually conduct the town hall as a Twitter event. Rather, Duncan sat down for a live web chat with journalist John Merrow, author of The Influence of Teachers who read the questions submitted via Twitter.

It was a brief, 40-minute chat with many of the questions centered on standardized testing, charter schools and vouchers. You can read the Department of Education summary here, check out Education Week’s report here, or watch the video of the entire interview here.
